There Has To Be A Sunrise
by Elizabeth M. Hazel © 2004

Stuck out here ‘til the morning light –

No sense of direction – left or right,

I saw you lost your heart -

Your dreams had fallen all apart;

Brother, sister, love can be true -

Someone make a connection with you,

I can’t tell you when –

But it’s time to start again…..

CHORUS:

            Well there has to be a sunrise after the darkest night –

            There has to be a star that shines bright overhead –

            There’s got to be a clear sky behind the clouds,

            And a dream to lead me there.

Looking ‘round this crazy world -

For a love so strong and true,

I thought that I had got it right -

I thought you were my shining knight;

But you were hard and cold and cruel -

The game of love has broken rules;

The past can’t hold me back -

If I can free – what’s in my heart…..

            Well there has to be a sunrise after the darkest night –

            There has to be a star that shines bright overhead –

            There’s got to be a clear sky behind the clouds,

            And a dream to lead me there.

BRIDGE:

The light is just around the corner – I know its there,

And hope for another chance - is whispering in my ear,

It talks to me of love; it sings to me of time to grow,

It laughs and sings and dances free -

It leads me to my destiny …..

            Well there has to be a sunrise after the darkest night –

            There has to be a star that shines bright overhead –

            There’s got to be a clear sky behind the clouds,

            And a dream to lead me there.
